Monday, the Minnesota Vikings announced General Manager Rick Spielman and the team agreed to a multi-year contract extension.

Spielman’s extension comes after head coach Mike Zimmer signed a three-year extension on July 24.

At this time, no specific details of the extension have been announced.

“Rick has been outstanding in his role as Vikings general manager. We are excited and honored to have him continue to lead our efforts to build a championship roster and first-class organization. With Rick’s and Coach Zimmer’s leadership in place, we are in a great position to continue to compete for a Super Bowl,” Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf said.

According to the team, in the six seasons that Spielman and Zimmer have worked in partnership, the Vikings have gone 57-38-1, winning two NFC North titles. The Vikings have also recorded three separate double-digit win seasons, making the postseason in each of those years (2015, 2017 and 2019).
