Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson is not only a hit on the field, but also off of it. He helped deliver a holiday shopping spree this week to kids from the Twin Cities Boys and Girls Club.

Peterson teamed up with Walmart to give 50 kids at the Boys and Girls Club the opportunity to have dinner featuring Buffalo Wild Wings, and have a shopping spree with him and a few of his teammates. It took place this week at the Walmart in Eagan.

"This was easy for me to team up with Walmart for this event to give back to the Boys and Girls Club. This is my first year to be involved with such a great cause. Especially this time of year, you want kids to have the best chance to have a great holiday," said Patrick Peterson.

Walmart gave every kid at the event $100.00 to spend in the store. Peterson matched it by giving the kids an additional $100.00 to spend. Peterson also had some help on the shopping spree with teammates Tyler Conlin, Irv Smith, and mascot Viktor. They helped the kids pick out presents for themselves and family members.

"I probably get as much out of this as the kids do. I love seeing the kids’ faces light up when they get a chance to have an experience like this. It’s a win-win for me and them," Peterson added.
