Quarterback Kirk Cousins met with reporters on Thursday, the second day of training camp in Eagan. He was asked about general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s comments in a recent USA Today story.

“I haven’t given it much thought with training camp being so busy and consuming so much of my time,” Cousins said. “I’m not too concerned about it.”

Adofo-Mensah added said that the Vikings had a “good quarterback” but said “we don’t have Tom Brady” and “we don’t have Pat(rick) Mahomes.”

Cousins threw for 4,221 yards, 33 touchdowns and just seven interceptions in his 16 starts last year.

Cousins touched on the switch to yet another new offense, the maturation of wide receiver Justin Jefferson, and more.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell touched on this early portion of training camp and how things will ramp up Monday when the pads come on, the daily interactions he’s having with Cousins, and more.

One practice note from Thursday: Linebacker Jordan Hicks (non-Covid illness) missed a second straight day.
