While a roster addition or two remains in play for the 2022 Gophers football team, work is well underway for 2023. Last week, coach P.J. Fleck added verbal commitments from two of the best in-state players: Osseo OL Jerome Williams and Kasson-Mantorville OL Reese Tripp.
We connected with Tripp, via Zoom, to learn about why he chose the Gophers and to find out about what sort of player he is.

The 6-foot-7, 315 pounder will add size to the Gophers’ offensive line. Tripp plays left guard for Kasson-Mantorville, but likely will kick out to tackle at the college level.
Tripp’s recruiting picked up recently. He committed to the Gophers eight days ago after being on campus for the program’s Junior Day — he committed the day he was offered. The day prior, he visited Iowa State.
