Twins-White Sox rained out Monday with July 19 makeup date announced
The Twins-White Sox game scheduled for Monday night in Chicago has been postponed because of rain. It’ll be made up on Monday, July 19.
The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader with Game 1 starting at 4:10 p.m., followed by the nightcap approximately 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of the opener. Both games will be seven innings in length, and the White Sox and Twins can add a 27th player for both games.
Monday’s game was to feature Kenta Maeda opposing Lucas Giolito. The Twins have won seven of their last nine games.
The first place White Sox lead the fourth place Twins by 11.5 games in the Central Division.
The White Sox are 24-12 against opponents from the AL Central. Chicago ranks fifth in the MLB in hitting with a .249 batting average. The Twins have gone 14-16 against division opponents.
Minnesota has hit 111 home runs this season, third in the American League. Nelson Cruz leads the team with 17, averaging one every 13.8 at-bats.
