Twins to start Josh Winder after right-handed pitcher swap ahead of Sunday’s game
The Minnesota Twins recalled Josh Winder and pulled Jharel Cotton up from the St. Paul Saints ahead of Sunday’s game home against the Cleveland Guardians, the team announced in a press release.
Winder, a right-handed pitcher, started for the Twins Sunday. In two recent starts for the Saints, he had a 2.25 ERA, and throughout his 10 games with the Twins earlier this season, he went 4-3 with a 3.77 ERA.
Cotton, another RHP, has moved between the Twins and the Triple-A squad a number of times this season with a 2.83 Twins ERA.
To make room on the 28-man roster, the Twins have moved RHP Chris Archer to the 15-day injured list and optioned RHP Cole Sands to the Saints.
