Twins sign starter Dylan Bundy

The Twins announced that they have signed free agent starter Dylan Bundy to a 1-year deal with a team option for 2023. Bundy is guaranteed $5 million, a source confirms to KSTP. The option for 2023 is for $11 million.

Bundy, 29, went 2-9 with a 6.06 earned run average (90.2 IP, 61 ER), six quality starts, 34 walks, 84 strikeouts, a .253 opponent batting average and a 1.36 WHIP in 23 games (19 starts) for the Los Angeles Angels last season.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound right-hander went 6-3 with a 3.29 ERA (65.2 IP, 24 ER) in 11 starts for the Halos in 2020 and finished ninth in the American League Cy Young Award voting that season.

In seven career major league seasons with Baltimore (2012, 2016-19) and Los Angeles-AL (2020-21), Bundy has gone 46-57 with three complete games, one shutout, a 4.72 ERA (770.2 IP, 404 ER), 257 walks, 758 strikeouts, and a .253 opponent batting average.

Bundy was selected by Baltimore in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2011 Draft out of Owasso, Oklahoma high school.
