Twins sign pitcher Aaron Sanchez to minor-league deal
The Minnesota Twins added some pitching depth on Monday.
The team announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Aaron Sanchez, who was designated for assignment by the Nationals last week and became a free agent.
Sanchez, 29, made seven starts for Washington this season, going 3-3 with an 8.33 ERA over 31.1 innings, including 16 strikeouts and 8 walks.
Last year, he pitched in nine games for San Francisco, making seven starts and totaling a 3.06 ERA over 35.1 innings.
The No. 34 pick of the 2010 MLB Draft will report to Triple-A St. Paul and offers further insurance for the Twins as they deal with several injuries to pitchers.
