Twins scouting director Sean Johnson spoke with KSTP Sports about the 2022 MLB Draft. The first two rounds are Sunday, with the remaining picks coming Monday and Tuesday. The Twins have a total of 20 picks, and a bonus pool of $10,036,000, which is 12th-largest. The Twins did sacrifice their 3rd round pick when they signed free agent SS Carlos Correa.

After a miserable 2021 season, the Twins have the No. 8 pick overall Sunday. They also have picks 48 and 68 in the top-100.

Johnson touches on the uniqueness of this year’s draft class, with all hitters projected to go in the top-10. In other words, look for the Twins to choose a hitter, not a pitcher, at pick 8.
