Twins’ Rooker put on 10-day IL

Another member of the Minnesota Twins has been placed on the injured list.

The team announced Wednesday that outfielder Brent Rooker was added to the 10-day Injured List due to a cervical strain. In three games this season, Rooker hit .091 with one RBI.

Left-handed pitcher Brandon Waddell was selected to replace Rooker on the roster. In spring training, Waddell went 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA in 9.1 innings, striking out 14 and walking four.

To make room for Waddell on the 40-man roster, the Twins moved pitcher Edwar Colina to the 60-day Injured List with right elbow inflammation.

The Twins entered Wednesday with a 3-2 record. After Wednesday’s series finale in Detroit, the team is scheduled to play Seattle for its first home series of the season beginning Thursday.
