Twins recall Sands; Garlick put on IL

The Minnesota Twins made another roster move Tuesday as the injured list continues to get longer.

Outfielder Kyle Garlick was put on the 10-day IL with a left hamstring strain, retroactive to June 4.

To take his roster spot, the Twins recalled pitcher Cole Sands from Triple-A St. Paul. Sands is scheduled to start Tuesday night’s game vs. the Yankees.

The Twins did get a little good news Tuesday, however.

Star shortstop Carlos Correa, who has been on the COVID-19 injured list since May 31, practiced before Tuesday’s game. While he wasn’t officially activated, he’s in line to rejoin the lineup as soon as Wednesday.
