Twins put reliever Alcala on IL, call up Garcia

Relief pitcher Jorge Alcala was placed on the 10-day Injured List by the Minnesota Twins on Monday due to triceps tendinitis.

This season, Alcala has a record of 3-5 with a 5.11 ERA over 44 innings for the Twins.

To fill his spot on the roster, the Twins recalled pitcher Edgar Garcia from Triple-A St. Paul. Garcia was claimed off waivers from Cincinnati on July 30 and has pitched five scoreless innings for the Saints.
