Twins move up Simeon Woods Richardson after success in St. Paul, Wichita
The Minnesota Twins selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson ahead of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Tigers.
Woods Richardson moved from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Twins at the end of July.
The 22-year-old pitcher was named Texas League Pitcher of the Month in April when he played for Double-A Wichita.
To make room on their 40-man roster, the Twins optioned RHP Ronny Rodriguez, who has played three games for the Twins. The team also placed catcher Sandy León on the 60-day injured list while he recovers from knee surgery.
