Twins: JT Riddle placed on COVID-19 IL, Telis selected from Taxi Squad

The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday that they have placed infielder JT Riddle on the COVID Injured List. Catcher Tomás Telis will take his place on the 26-man roster.

Riddle played in four games for the club so far this season, batting 2-for-6 (.333) with a run scored.

Telis, who spent the 2020 season at the alternate training site in St. Paul, has appeared in 122 career major league games. He has a career batting average of .230 (58-for-252) with eight doubles, three triples, one home run and 24 RBI over parts of five seasons spent with the Texas Rangers and Miami Marlins.

On Tuesday, the Twins added pitcher Caleb Thielbar and outfielders Max Kepler and Kyle Garlick to MLB’s COVID reserve list.
