Twins’ Archer goes on IL, Winder recalled

Add another injury to the Minnesota Twins’ already-long list.

Tuesday, the team put starting pitcher Chris Archer on the 15-day injured list with left hip tightness. The move is retroactive to July 2.

In his first season with Minnesota, the 33-year-old Archer has gone 2-3 with a 3.08 ERA, 30 walks, 47 strikeouts and a .208 batting average against in 61.1 innings.

Taking his spot on the roster is Josh Winder, who is making his third stint with the big-league club this season. Winder has appeared in eight games for the Twins, including four starts, going 3-2 with a 3.06 ERA, 10 walks, 24 strikeouts and a .235 opponent batting average over 35.1 innings.

Winder is set to start Tuesday night in Chicago.
