Twins announce minor league staff for 2022 season

Wednesday, the Minnesota Twins announced the 2022 coaching assignments for its minor league affiliates.

The managers for Minnesota’s top four affiliates — Triple-A St. Paul, Double-A Wichita, High-A Cedar Rapids and Low-A Fort Myers — all remain the same as last year.

Many of the coaches on each staff also aren’t new to the organization, although some have shifted to a different minor league level.

The Twins have already set the major league staff, which is still led by manager Rocco Baldelli. Newcomers to the major league staff were announced earlier in the offseason, with former Padres manager Jayce Tingler filling the bench coach role and David Popkins joining as a hitting coach, taking the place of Edgar Varela, who was moved to the organization’s coordinator of instruction. Additionally, the Twins added Hank Conger as the first base and catching coach, Luis Ramirez as an assistant pitching coach and switched the roles of Tommy Watkins and Tony Diaz.

Spring Training is quickly approaching, with Minnesota’s first organized game set for Feb. 25 against the University of Minnesota.
