Twins’ Alex Kirilloff to undergo surgery, placed on IL
Minnesota Twins outfielder/first baseman Alex Kirilloff is headed to the 10-Day Injured List and will undergo surgery, the team announced Wednesday.
According to the Twins, Kirilloff will have surgery later this week to repair a torn right wrist ligament.
In 59 games for Minnesota this season, Kirilloff has hit .251 with 11 doubles, eight home runs, 34 RBI and a .722 OPS. He went on the injured list in May with the same injury.
To take his spot on the active roster, the Twins recalled catcher/infielder Willians Astudillo from Triple-A St. Paul.
