Twins activate Simmons, option Gordon
The Minnesota Twins announced Monday afternoon that they have reinstated shortstop Andrelton Simmons from the COVID Injured List. He missed the last 10 games.
Simmons is hitting .355, with three doubles, and three RBIs in 10 games this season. The 31-year-old will be in uniform for Monday’s game in Cleveland.
To make room on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned infielder Nick Gordon. Gordon, who was recalled on Friday, did not appear in a game for the Twins and will remain with the team on the Taxi Squad.
It’s a 3-game series for the Twins in Cleveland before they return home to host Kansas City.
