Ava and Sadie Lindsay have spent their lives sharing a love of hockey together. They learned the game together on a backyard pond, have been part of three state championships at Breck and will stay together as Gophers in college.

They are in the final days of their shared time as high school players. As high-scoring forwards and linemates, they’ve left quite a mark on scoresheets and highlight reels.

As a senior, Sadie’s playing her fifth and final year of high school hockey. Over her 135 games, she’s scored 81 goals and 79 assists for 160 points.

Ava is a sophomore. She began playing varsity as a seventh grader. In 105 games, she has 57 goals and 99 assists for 156 points.

With Ava’s junior and senior seasons still to come, the Lindsay sisters have piled up an amazing 316 points.

In the coming weeks, they’re hoping to help Breck become the first girls hockey team in Minnesota ever to win four consecutive state titles. They both played roles in the Mustangs state title campaigns in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

After this year, Sadie heads off to college at the University of Minnesota. In a couple years, once Ava graduates, they’ll share the ice yet again as Gophers. If their high school numbers are any indication, expect Gophers coach Brad Frost to reunite Ava and Sadie as linemates.
