Eden Prairie senior defenseman Luke Mittelstadt is a Gophers commitment. He was playing in the USHL for Lincoln, but once news hit that Minnesota would have a high school season, he knew he wanted to come home.

Luke is from a hockey rich family with older brother, John, playing in the USHL and set to play for the Gophers, while oldest brother, Casey, plays in the NHL for Buffalo.
Eden Prairie opens it season on Saturday at St. Michael-Albertville.
