Class of 2021 Totino-Grace tight end Joe Alt committed to Notre Dame this week, choosing the Irish over the Gophers, Hawkeyes, and other high-major programs.

We talked with Alt about his decision, along with head coach Jay Anderson. Anderson, the long-time Eagles offensive coordinator, elevated to head coach when legend Jeff Ferguson retired in the winter.

Alt, who is 6-foot-7 and weighs around 250 lbs, projects as a left or right tackle in college. His dad, John Alt, played 12 years in the NFL as an offensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs. In other words, he gets plenty of great tips and advice on playing OL, off to the side. But his main focus for the Eagles is dominating as a tight end, which includes some blocking.

Alt is also a solid basketball player for the Eagles.
