Tommies knock off defending PFL champion Davidson, 27-16 at O’Shaughnessy Stadium

The University of St. Thomas football team has won four straight games after a steady 27-16 win over the reigning Pioneer Football League co-champion Davidson Saturday afternoon at O’Shaughnessy Stadium in St. Paul.
The Tommies scored on their opening drive of the game and never trailed after that.

Quarterback Cade Sexauer completed a 23 yard pass to Andrew McElroy giving the Tommies a 7-0 lead.
St. Thomas found the end zone two more in the second quarter and held a 20-3 lead at halftime.
The Tommies defense put together one of their best outings of season. Davidson entered the game averaging 39 points per game, St. Thomas held them to 16 points in the win.

With the win, St. Thomas improved to (4-1) overall and (2-0) in PFL play. The Tommies host Drake next Saturday, Oct. 15.
