Timberwolves to host limited number of fans for final 12 home games

Monday, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced a limited number of fans will be able to attend the team’s final 12 home games of the regular season, starting with the game against Sacramento on April 5.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on March 31. Fans who sign up for priority access will be able to buy tickets starting one day earlier.

The team didn’t say exactly how many fans would be allowed at games but the latest state guidelines would allow about 3,000 fans to attend.

Additionally, the team said it will implement health and safety protocols, including socially distanced seating, digital tickets and orders for food and drinks at the arena, enhanced cleaning, mandatory masks and verbal COVID-19 screening ahead of games.

"Welcoming Timberwolves fans back to Target Center is an exciting step forward. The energy and passion they bring to games is a huge part of creating a home court advantage for our players," Timberwolves and Lynx CEO Ethan Casson said. "We will continue to work with Governor Walz and his team, local health officials, and the NBA to provide a safe and entertaining experience for everyone returning to Target Center."
