We know they are a really good team, they present a lot of challenges.” Timberwolves power forward Julius Randle told reporters Tuesday morning about playing the Lakers. “We are up for it, we are excited.”
Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks knocked the Wolves out of the playoffs in five games last season in the Western Conference Finals. Doncic averaged 32.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.2 assists and shot 43% from 3-point range in that series win.
Doncic was traded to the Lakers in February of this season.
The Wolves won four of their last five games to close out the regular season, and split 2-2 with the Lakers during the regular season.
The Timberwolves’ 17-4 record since the start of March is the third-best in the NBA behind Boston and Oklahoma City. Despite some rocky stretches and inexplicable losses, this team is fully healthy and confident entering the postseason.
Game-1 for Minnesota against the Lakers is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Los Angeles televised on KSTP-TV.
