Towns named to 3rd NBA All-Star Game

Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns joined Kevin Garnett and Kevin Love as the only three-time All-Stars in franchise history after being named as a reserve Thursday night.

Towns is averaging 24.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 blocks and a career-high 1.1 steals per game this season.

An All-Star in 2018 and 2019, Towns also played in the Risings Stars Challenge in each of his first two seasons as a pro. Garnett was a 10-time All-Star in Minnesota and Love made the team three times during his stay with the Timberwolves.

This year’s NBA All-Star Game will be played at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Sunday, February 20. All-Star reserves make the team via balloting by NBA head coaches.
