Fowles signs 1-year contract with Lynx for final season
A two-time WNBA Champion and Finals MVP will be back with the Minnesota Lynx for one more season.
According to the team, Sylvia Fowles has re-signed a one-year deal with the Lynx for what will be her final season.
As 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS previously reported, Fowles announced on her Instagram account she was re-signing with the team, however, it was not released until Tuesday how long the contract would be.
Fowles joined the Lynx at the start of the 2015 season, and was named Finals MVP in 2015.
In 2016, she won her third defensive-player-of-the-year award and in 2017, was named WNBA’s MVP.
The upcoming season will be Fowles’ 15th. She was drafted second overall by Chicago in 2008, and came to Minnesota in a three-team trade in 2015.
Her final regular season home opener will be at 6 p.m. on May 8.
