Record-setting Stillwater QB Max Shikenjanski pondering Gophers PWO offer

Through three games this season, Stillwater senior QB Shikenjanski is completing 69.5% of his passes for 1,063 yards with 12 passing touchdowns and just one interception. He is rewriting the Stillwater record books, and leads the state in many statistical categories.

With his success, it’s no surprise that Stillwater is off to a 3-0 start, considered one of the best teams in Class 6A.

We stopped by Stillwater practice this week to catch up with Shikenjanski and coach Beau Labore.

Shikenjanski, a basketball commit to the Citadel, recently received a preferred walk-on offer from P.J. Fleck and the Gophers. He said he’ll make a choice in the coming weeks whether to accept that offer or honor his D-1 basketball commitment.

Max’s dad is former Gophers basketball player Jim Shikenjanski.

Stillwater next plays Osseo on Friday night.
