State Hockey: Eden Prairie outlasts Blake in AA Semi

Eden Prairie defeated Blake 4-1 in the Class 2A semifinals at the Boys’ State Hockey Tournament Friday night in St. Paul.

With only 41 seconds left in the second period, Eden Prairie senior forward Ben Steeves got the Eagles on the board d with his 36th goal of the season. On a power play at 13:48 of the third period, junior forward Thomas Nelson scored Blake’s only goal of the game.

Senior goalie Axel Rosenlund had 32 saves for Eden Prairie (24-5-1). Bears junior goalie Aksel Reid had 30 saves for Blake (23-7-0).

With the win, Eden Prairie advances to the 2020 Class AA championship game on Saturday at Xcel Energy Center.
