The ongoing health crisis prevented the St Paul Saints from hosting their annual open tryout at CHS Field, so this year they took their call for arms, bats and gloves online for a "virtual tryout".

The Saints asked hopefuls to submit videos of whatever they felt might impress the team’s selection committee. Submissions ranged across all ages and ability levels.
Over the years, the open tryout has unearthed a handful of players who went on to play for the Saints, but it wasn’t a certainty in any given year.
But, just as this year’s tryout format changed, so did the stakes. This year’s process guaranteed one player would join the Saints roster.
After reviewing dozens of entries, the Saints selected four finalists to advance to online fan voting.
The winner will earn invite to participate in the Saints spring training program once it begins.
*If reading this prior to Monday, May 11th, voting is taking place on the Saints Twitter and Instagram social media feeds.
