South St. Paul girls hockey team ready for state tournament

The South St. Paul girls hockey team is in the Class A State Tournament for the first time since 2015. KSTP Sports was at the Packers’ practice on Monday, as they get ready for a quarterfinal matchup vs. Rochester Lourdes.

Wednesday’s game is an 8 p.m. start, and a rematch from February 4. The Packers won that game, 8-2.
South St. Paul is the 4-seed, with Breck, Warroad, and Cloquet-Esko-Carlton placed above them.
The Section 4A champion Packers are 19-7-1 overall. This is their 15th trip to state.
