Racism and social injustice hit home for Vikings GM Spielman

KSTP sports director Joe Schmit talked with Vikings GM Rick Spielman about raising six adopted Black children.

Spielman and his wife, Michele, watched in horror when Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on George Floyd’s neck, and killed him. They both instantly thought that one of their six children could’ve been in that situation.

Spielman is proud to work for an organization that is willing to do so much to fight the racism and social injustice Black people face in our country on a daily basis.
