Okogie, 21, wants to continue to use his platform to fight the racism and social injustice issues that exist.

Okogie was among several current and former NBA players, including Wolves center Karl-Anthony Towns, who attended a press conference and rally led by ex-Warrior/Spur/Net/Pacer/Bobcat/Hawk/Buck/Clipper Stephen Jackson earlier this summer in downtown Minneapolis. That was following the police killing of Minneapolis resident George Floyd.

Since then, Okogie has traveled to Louisville to learn more about the police killing of Breonna Taylor.

Taylor, 26, was shot to death by police in her own home on March 13. In what’s been described as a "botched raid," officers barged into Taylor’s apartment in Louisville, Kentucky, as she lay sleeping, and fired multiple rounds.
