The lottery was conducted virtually because of the pandemic, with NBA officials conducting the actual draw in Secaucus, New Jersey. Golden State holds the No. 2 pick, Charlotte got the No. 3 pick and Chicago will pick fourth. The Wolves were tied with Golden State and Cleveland for the best chance to land No. 1 at 14 percent. Cleveland moved down to No. 5.

The Timberwolves also own the No. 17 overall pick, which originally belonged to Brooklyn and was acquired by the Timberwolves from Atlanta before the 2019-20 trade deadline, and the No. 33 overall pick (No. 3 in the second round).

The NBA Draft is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16.
