Q&A: Twins Director of Scouting Sean Johnson previews draft

The Major League Baseball Draft starts on Sunday and the Twins have four picks in the top-100, including No. 26 and No. 36. The Twins have a signing bonus pool of $8,101,400 for their 11 picks in the first 10 rounds. The draft is 20 rounds total, with the Twins having 21 picks overall. The draft runs Sunday-Tuesday.
We spoke with Twins director of scouting Sean Johnson to get a preview.

This is Johnson’s fifth draft having final say in the Twins’ draft room. His four previous first round picks: INF Royce Lewis, OF Trevor Larnach, INF Keoni Cavaco, and INF Aaron Sabato.
Johnson has seen draft picks Larnach, C Ryan Jeffers, SP Bailey Ober, and OF Brent Rooker reach the majors, with prospects like SP Josh Winder knocking on the door.
