Jeffers, 23, was called over from the Twins’ St. Paul site in late August following catcher Mitch Garver’s injury. Having never played above Double A, Jeffers showed he belonged in his MLB debut, producing a run-scoring single.

In all, Jeffers caught 162 innings this year and didn’t have an error. His elite framing skills were on display on a nightly basis, and he was so good from the day he was called up that he was called on to start both playoff games.

Jeffers produced a solid line of .273/.355/.436 with three home runs in 62 plate appearances. His .791 OPS was among the best on the team.
