Q&A: Osseo’s Caleb Truax on title fight Saturday vs. Caleb Plant

Osseo native and University of Minnesota alum Caleb Truax gets another shot at a world championship boxing belt when he fights Caleb Plant on Saturday.
At 37-years-old, Truax is most recently coming off a majority decision win over David Basajjamivule a full year ago, while Plant, 28, beat Vincent Feigenbutz last February.
FOX will produce a national broadcast Saturday night featuring the Plant-Truax fight.
We caught up with Truax at his training gym in Spring Lake Park before he departed on Wednesday for the fight’s location in Los Angeles.

Plant (20-0, 12 KOs) is a heavy favorite vs. Truax (31-4-2, 19 KOs) — Truax faces long odds as a 10-1 underdog. Truax previously upset James DeGale in December 2017 as a 50-1 underdog to win the IBF super middleweight title.
