Q&A: New Gophers defensive lineman Lorenza Surgers

One of a few transfers the Gophers football team has picked up this winter is defensive lineman Lorenza Surgers.
He comes from Vanderbilt and took time to chat with our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson.

After appearing in 10 games for the Commodores in 2021, he recorded 17 tackles and one sack. He has two seasons of eligibility left to contribute at Minnesota.
Surgers chose Minnesota over Texas-San Antonio, Ohio, Hawaii, Miami (Oh.), and Western Kentucky.
