A 7-footer, Holmgren is incredibly unique. He has guard skills, but is also the top shot-blocker in the nation. Holmgren has added six pounds of muscle this summer, and wants to put on even more weight for whatever team he’ll be playing for next. He said he currently weighs approximately 186 pounds.

Holmgren is down to a final seven of college choices that includes the Gophers, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Memphis, Michigan, North Carolina and Ohio State. Going right to the pro ranks in the G-League could also be an option.

David Holmgren, Chet’s dad, is a former Gopher, so the hometown school will always be in Chet’s mix. He noted that he’ll have a Zoom chat with coach Richard Pitino in the near future in which Pitino will detail how exactly Holmgren would fit in his offense.
