Q&A: Gophers coach John Anderson on challenging year and his future as contract set to expire

Minnesota baseball legend John Anderson just wrapped up a 40th year of coaching the Gophers. Will he be back for a 41st? Anderson’s contract expires in a few weeks.
At the moment, he has a multi-year offer on the table from athletic director Mark Coyle. However, his representation is working on the language in the offer. Anderson stressed to KSTP that this isn’t about money or term.
We caught up with Anderson on Wednesday to review the challenging season, his solid 2021 recruiting class, his contractual situation, hurdles moving forward with scholarship limitations, and more.
