The Vikings selected Mond with the 66th overall pick in the third round. Mond threw 19 touchdown passes and was only intercepted three times during his senior season for Texas A&M.
A four-year starter with the Aggies, Mond threw for 9,661 yards and 71 touchdowns, while also rushing for 1,609 yards and 22 touchdowns in his career.
Jackson is close with Zimmer — they even talked about teaming up after Gary Kubiak’s retirement — and said he knows his close friend is not happy after the way the 2020 season went. Zimmer’s defense was in the bottom-half, statistically, in the NFL.
