Carroll will be in South Bend until May, finishing up his undergraduate degree. So he’ll miss Gophers spring practice, but is in constant communication with the Gophers’ staff and his new teammates.
With four Gophers offensive line starters moving on, Carroll is in prime position to be starter when the season opens in early September vs. New Mexico State.
The Gophers wanted Carroll badly before he chose Notre Dame.
