Robbinsdale Cooper junior DE / TE Jaxon Howard is the top-ranked Minnesota football recruit in many, many years. He has 54 college offers, including from Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and the Gophers.

Recently, Howard cut his list to these 12: The Gophers, Notre Dame, Florida, Michigan, Alabama, North Carolina, Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford, and Arizona State. However, Clemson recently came and watched him in a game and could enter the picture.

KSTP Sports recently spoke with Howard about the recruiting process.

Recruiting website 247 ranks Howard as the 70th-best player nationally in the 2023 Class, and 8th-best athlete. He’s a 4-star recruit.

Howard’s dad is former Vikings defensive lineman Willie Howard. Willie is an assistant principal at Robbinsdale Cooper and the head football coach.

Willie was a star in college at Stanford, and while the Cardinal are in the mix for Jaxon, he doesn’t feel any sort of obligation to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
