Q&A: Arizona transfer WR Jamarye Joiner on Gophers offer

Wide receiver Jamarye Joiner recently announced his intentions to transfer from Arizona and the Gophers hopped in immediately with an offer. Arizona fired its coach, Kevin Sumlin, which is a factor in Joiner’s decision.
We talked with Joiner about his interest in Minnesota and whether the Wednesday news of Texas A&M transfer receiver Dylan Wright choosing the Gophers has an impact.

Joiner, a redshirt sophomore, played both quarterback and receiver for Arizona in three seasons. He appeared in two games as a QB in 2018 before getting switched to receiver prior to the 2019 season.
He caught 46 passes for 663 yards and six touchdowns, including a 34-yard score in Arizona’s season-opening loss to USC.
His best game came in 2019, a 140-yard, two-touchdown performance in a loss to Arizona State.
Joiner is listed at 6-feet-1, weighing 214 pounds.
