Q&A: Abdoulaye Thiam on committing to Gophers basketball program

KSTP Sports caught up with Gophers men’s basketball commitment Abdoulaye Thiam.

The Orlando native played most recently for Indian River State College, a Junior College powerhouse. They qualified for the Junior College National Tournament in his lone season on the roster.

Thiam, a 6-foot-3 guard, averaged 15 points per game last season and shot a solid 56.1% from the field, 48.5% from three-point range and 69.8% from the free-throw line.

Thiam has 4 years of college eligibility remaining. He told us that Buffalo was also in his mix.

Thiam is expected to be on campus in June for workouts.
