Park Center boys basketball focused on deep playoff run

The Park Center Pirates boys basketball team is one of the best in the state, featuring senior guard Braeden Carrington, who is a Gopher commit. KSTP Sports stopped by one of their practices to talk to them about the pressure of having high expectations.

The Pirates are ranked No. 2 in Class 4A heading into the season. They defeated Edina 66-61 in their season-opener. The schedule also features games against No. 2 (Class 3A) DeLaSalle, No. 1 (Class 4A) Wayzata, No. 1 (Class 2A) Minnehaha Academy, and No. 1 (Class 3A) Totino-Grace.
Head coach James Ware talked about the expectations, the team’s summer, the tough schedule, Carrington’s leadership, and the role their defense will play in the season.
Carrington spoke about the high expectations, winning a state championship, committing to the University of Minnesota Gophers, and his leadership.
