No. 4 Providence Academy girls hoops rout Breck

The No. 4 (Class 2A) Providence Academy Lions girl’s basketball team defeated the Breck Mustangs 62-24, Tuesday evening at Providence Academy.

Providence dominated right from the jump. They had great defense all game, especially in the first half, holding Breck to just 10 points all half. Providence would lead 25-10 at the break.

The second half was much more of the same. Providence could not miss inside the paint. Sophomore forward Grace Counts scored 19 points for the Lions, the majority from inside the paint. Seventh-grade guard Maddyn Greenway, daughter of longtime Viking linebacker Chad Greenway, led the Lions with 24 points. Greenway had five assists to go along with two steals.

Providence improves to 16-1 with the victory.
