No. 4 Como Park girls hoops pull away late, beat Central

The No. 4 (Class 3A) St. Paul Como Park Cougars girls basketball team defeated the St. Paul Central Minutemen 71-58, Saturday afternoon at Central High School.?

It was a back-and-forth first half, ending in a 32-27 Central halftime lead. But, Como Park opened up the second half on a 13-3 run in the first three minutes. ?
Central would hang around the whole game, cutting the lead to 59-56 with 5:08 remaining in the game. However, the Cougars ended the game on a 12-2 run, winning 71-58.
Central’s top scorers were Alayjza Campbell and Eva Blum with 13 point each. Eleanor Cordes finished with nine points and Anna Rynkiewich finished with eight points for the Minutemen.

For Como Park, Demya Riley finished with 18 points, Ronnie Porter scored 17, to go along with a handful of great assists, Jada James scored 16 points, and Kaylynn Asberry scored 13 points for the Cougars.
Como Park improves to 9-0 on the year.
