New Duluth East boys hockey head coach announced

The Duluth East boys hockey team has a new head coach.

The school district announced Monday Steve Pitoscia will lead the program, according to Hubbard Broadcasting sister station WDIO-TV.

According to WDIO, Pitoscia has over 30 years of experience as a hockey player, coach and volunteer.

He played hockey for Duluth East and in USA Juniors for the Vail Avalanche and Kings Americans. WDIO reports he has also volunteered in the role of vice president for the Duluth Amateur Hockey Association.

His coaching career has included teams in Duluth, Cloquet and Omaha, WDIO reports.

Pitoscia replaces Mike Randolph, who resigned last month, WDIO confirmed.
