The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) met Thursday to discuss the future of winter sports.
The league discussed what the season and post-season play could look like for hockey and other winter sports.
The league announced competition will start no earlier than Jan. 4 and run through June 19, which is 24 weeks.
The pre-season could consist of two weeks of practice and the postseason would have two weeks of section play and one week of a state tournament run.
However, that is all dependant on state guidelines and the COVID-19 situation in the state. Under new restrictions recently implemented, winter sports are paused until Dec. 19 at the earliest.
