MNUFC trades Mason Toye for allocation money and draft pick

Minnesota United announced Thursday it has traded forward Mason Toye, securing a 2021 second-round MLS SuperDraft pick.

The club also acquired $150,000 in 2020 General Allocation Money and $450,000 in 2021 General Allocation Money via the trade from Montreal Impact.

Minnesota United will also retain a percentage of any future transfer fee on Toye.

According to the club, Toye was selected seventh overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, from Indiana University. He made his debut as a substitute in March 2018, scored his first MNUFC goal in the Open Cup on June 18, 2019, and his first MLS goal on June 29, 2019.

Toye made 42 game appearances with Minnesota United since his debut.
